Ross Bryson · Founder & studio leader

Building games.
Building a studio.

Turning creative ambition into experiences people can actually play.

I founded Orcwood Games LLC to build games and products that bring people together. My role connects the whole journey: setting direction, bringing creative and technical work together, and building the software that turns an idea into a release.

  • Studio direction
  • Creative leadership
  • Hands-on engineering
  • Product delivery

The studio I’m building

Small team.
Shared ambition.
Something worth playing.

Orcwood is an independent North Carolina studio exploring a simple idea: play can connect people. That takes different forms, from a puzzle adventure to a cooperative world, or an app that makes family routines more rewarding.

Being a founder means taking responsibility for more than the code. I help shape what we build, how we work together, and how we bring it to players, while staying close to the engineering.

The studio’s approach is practical: keep scope achievable, finish the work, and use feedback from the people playing it to guide what comes next.

Entrepreneurship in practice

The founder’s job:
connect the vision to the work.

01 / Set the direction

Turn an idea into a plan.

I guide studio strategy and product priorities, connecting creative possibilities with the scope, technical choices, and delivery work needed to pursue them.

For Orcwood, that means giving ambitious ideas a practical path toward something players can experience.

02 / Bring people together

Lead across disciplines.

I coordinate creative and technical work across a team of engineers, artists, designers, and audio contributors. Each discipline brings something essential to the finished experience.

For the studio, that means connecting individual strengths around a shared product direction.

03 / Stay close to delivery

Build beyond the game client.

My work spans gameplay, backend systems, and the studio’s web presence. I pair Unity and C# development with experience building cloud services and web applications.

For Orcwood, that means connecting the games to the supporting systems that help people discover and use them.
